What did you like least about the race: (141)

As crazy as it sounds this race makes me realize how much other races are ripping me off! Thanks, I think…

As is usually the case some of the faster runner can be a bit inconsiderate, I know they have the right of way going downhill, but some of them seem to think you should give them the whole trail. But this is by no means your fault, I am just venting!!!

At times the downhill SUCKED, but overall, it’s a great challenge, and the weather was perfect... nice and cool at the top.

Blazing sun on the last few switchbacks coming downhill

Can we please pre-order a cooler day for next year?

Climbing

Crowded trail.

Didn’t have time to train the way I would have liked to and having to leave right after I finished. I like the award ceremonies.

Diesel fumes from the Cog.

Downhill

Elevation gain

Everything was great

Everything was great.

Falling on downhill

Finish area was crowded and no comfortable place to hang out.

Generally liked it all. :) It is a great race!

Got tired of watching many people littering the trail. The worst part of the race was the last 1 1/2 mile. Hurt a leg and really could not run. :)

Having to run so hard going down.

Heat

Heat

Heat

Heat

Heat

Heat

Heat (can’t do anything about that)

Heat at the finish—but nothing can be done about that.

Heat, but there is nothing to do about it

Hot

Hot

Hot

Hot!!! Coming down. Have to get faster next year to beat the heat.

How my stomach felt after running.

I can’t think of anything I did not like. This is truly one of the best run races I have ever done.

I can’t think of anything negative of any consequence.

I could have used a caffeinated drink at the end to revive myself, and I could have sworn that the race map suggested Pepsi would be available. It wasn’t a problem, though, as I did buy a cup of coffee before the awards ceremony.

I got a severe leg cramp coming down...nothing to do with the race really, just me.

I hate uphills!

I thought some beverages (water, Gatorade, pop?) could have been provide at the awards ceremony. It was hot and I was thirsty!

I thought the water and Gatorade at the end was not cold. It needed ice...especially on such a hot day.

I was not able to locate water during the awards ceremony.

I wish it were two or three weeks AFTER PPA & PPM. It would be a little cooler, and perhaps fewer hikers.

It was a great race

It was way to hot at the bottom!!!

It would be nice if the race started a little earlier. The W’s are REALLY hot (even on regular summer days) after 9:30.

It’s just too hot each year and I end up feeling bad.

Just that the course is so hard, but this is also why I keep coming back! I think the primes are kind of dumb though. 2 in the first 1/4 mile, and in reality <5% of the field can contend for them.

Kinda hot...but I felt it was better than last year

Limited El Paso County Search & Rescue folks on the course just in case something happens.

Line for the restroom

Maybe not having duplicate awards for people

My blisters.

My lack mountain training and subsequent performance :)

My wife didn’t like the steep hill at the finish but it didn’t bother me.

N/a

N/a - all was great

Needed a medic at the finish and couldn’t get one.

No complaints at all.

No problems

Not much space to rest near the finish.

Nothing

Nothing

Nothing

Nothing in your control — the heat

Nothing stands out that I didn’t like.

Nothing. By the way, the guy that said too many Texans just moved to Colorado from Texas six months ago and is from Pennsylvania.

One thing I really noticed this year is that water/Gatorade would really be nice to have at the awards ceremony. I didn’t really get enough to drink at the finish (especially since it was so hot!) and then headed down to Soda Springs park hoping that there would be drinks there too. The watermelon is great, but some COLD water at the park would be great too, (the pizza made me thirsty too!!!)

Parking

Passing people (or getting passed)

Raffle — Needs to change. I know it is tough but maybe collect tags at awards ceremony and only select from those present plus volunteers. Needs to be speeded up. It could much worse than it is so don’t change it unless an improvement can be made.

Runners who don’t adhere to the no parking on Ruxton guidance...

Some random guy, not a runner got a gift certificate at the end when throwing them out

Spraining my ankle.

Temperatures are beyond your control.

That damn Hydro Street at the end!

That I fell:) Actually, the finish area did seem to get a bit crowded toward the end but that is not that big of a deal

That it was hot.!

That its not run in the winter. I don't know what it is about that weekend but it seems to be the hottest friggin weekend of the year. How about rain for 2007?

That you broke down the finish line and aid station without being there for all the runners. I don’t have a problem with the 3:30 cut off, but I do think you should be there for those that finish after the cutoff. They registered and obviously understand that they are a DNF, but don’t you think they deserve water and a pat on the back when they come through the finish line? We saw a few men come through late and we had to beg the aid station workers to get them a drink of water. It was really pitiful. I understand you need to get to the Soda Springs Park for the awards ceremony, but I think you should at the very least have the aid station remain set up till all runners are accounted for.

The congestion the first half hour of the Race.

The downhill

The downhill heat.

The downhill. (Barr Trail would be my favorite trail race, but the downhill beats me up too much!)

The dude who stopped to rest after beating all the real runners to the first prime.

The first water station on the trail did not have water poured and ready for runners.

The heat

The heat

The heat

The heat

The heat

The heat (can’t do anything about that) and the uphill (am out of shape)

The heat has been pretty miserable for us still running at 10:00. I know you can’t change the weather. Perhaps consider an earlier start, but it’s entirely understandable that the race needs to be primarily for the better runners.

The heat wasn’t much fun, though it was much better than last year. I suppose one could consider a 6:30 am start?

The heat!

The heat!

The heat!

The heat!

The heat! Maybe the start time could be moved back a half hour or hour?!

The heat, and almost running onto the incline trail coming down the W’s (dumb).

The heat, but I don’t expect you all to line the trail with air conditioners, so don’t worry about it. :)

The heat, cramping up that last hill. Nothing you could or should do anything about though.

The heat, which can’t be helped of course, and the little upswing right before the finish line.

The heat. Not much you can do about it.

The heat. (Please turn the A/C up next year. The last two years have been too hot.) :-)

The heat... But that’s Mother Natures call not the committees.

The last part on pavement then the final hill—what a gut breaker. However, it was appropriate. There was nothing about the race I didn’t like.

The pain

The pain

The pain!

The part where I fell down two times on my descent! This, of course, had nothing to do with how you organized the race. I will participate in it again.

The race was fine, my time was a good bit slower than I would have liked.

The rude girl who pushed me out of the way.... Then I beat her to the finish. haha

The starting time—I know starting earlier will be a pain in the butt for the volunteers, but maybe if you ask real nice.....

The temperature was a little too hot, but other than that there was nothing to dislike.

The T-shirt

The uphill finish!

The uphill!

The walk back to the car after the race.

The way my body felt.

There needs to be more water in the cups at the water stations

There was no water at the award ceremony. I kept eating watermelon instead. Also, the finish is hard for spectators to reach with kids.

Too damn hot but what can you do.

Too far from Boulder! :)

Too hot—need to start earlier

Too hot :-)

Too hot! Could you provide cloud cover next year?

Too many good runners in my age group.

Too many Texans!

Tripping over a rock and bruising my toe. Just kidding....Nothing.

Um, um, that’s a tuff one... I’ll have to get back to you. ;)

Weather is too hot

Well done.

Well, that hill at the end was a little cruel:) I wish we could start a little earlier.

Way too hot, not too much we can do about that

What else? The heat. Missed the cooler weather by a week.
