1. distance markers would be helpful 2. I wasnt aware that it was helpful to walk on a lot of the trail 3. Too bad that we cant get other hikers and folk off the trail during the race. I had a pretty bad fall because of some woman and her dog who were using the trail and sort of got in my way on the race downhill.
a few people told me the sound system had too much bass to hear easily. maybe the other speakers are better.
A great race with good organization. Maybe next year the tent at the finish line could be a bit bigger so that more people can be in the shade.
a great race. tough course but a great trail and great volunteers, very well organized by the directors
a well run event
after taking a nasty fall, I was taken care of quickly and efficiently and was followed to the bottom by a wonderful lady (Mary Claire)
Always a pleasure to do this race!
Any way to get some more shade near the finish? Maybe make sure that there are clouds on race day??? It was a VERY WELL ORGANIZED RACE!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
As I sit here looking at my age group award I am not sure what to do with it. It Almost looks like a coaster. Pop the quartz out of the middle and it might work. Over the years maybe collect a set.
beautiful effort, but you should keep race open for 4 hours. for us flatlanders (ok) 3"30 is a real challenge and especially since ewe are over 60. a long way to go for dnf. Adrian Wolford should count, life aint fair.
Congrats on another successful race.
cool race
Did not locate the Chipotle coupons at the finish & Had to leave early. How can I get the coupon?
enjoyed the race very much!
Entry fee seems low for the quality of the race and the quality of the runners. A warning sign PHOTOGRAPHER AROUND NEXT BEND would be nice, especially on the downhill. Thanks for the excellent organization and for all the stats.
Excellent Race!!!
Fantastic race I plan to advertise it to the Fort Collins Trail Runners again this next year hopefully next year we can have more than 2 people representing Fort Collins.
Fantastic race organization through execution, I noticed no hassles.
Fun race! There was great encouragement from the aid station crews, race volunteers, park rangers, and other runners. Seemed more like a shared experience than a race.
Glad I was there
good coverage
Good job! You do great every year.
Good job.
good job. its a great race
good work and thanks.
Great awards this year, very unique. I have cramped two of my four years in this race, hence my comment about one more aid station, but it could be just me.
Great job lots of hard work putting it together
Great job!
Great job, I loved the race
great race well organized lots of fun
great race once again
Great race once again, though it was a little warm this year. Can you please call in some rain the night before to cut down on the dust and keep the clouds around on race day? I can dream cant I?
Great race to everyone involved!
Great race well organized
Great race well organized and supported
Great race!
GREAT race!!!!
great race, enjoyed it a lot. Challenging yet fun.
great race, I had an awesome time
Great race, thank you very much!
Great race, well organized, great beneficiaries. Second time Ive missed the cut-off. Dont think Ill do it again, but maybe thats your intent. Great training run for the Ascent. Keep the cut-off at 3/30 if you want, but at least leave the finish line up until youve accounted for all the runners. That water at the end of a hard, hot 12 mile run is vital for recovery.
Great race, well organized, will definitely race it again.
Great race. Ill highly recommend it to others!
Great race. It was a very rewarding experience for me.
great race. it was very hot, and I wish there was a way to make people take the heat, altitude a little more seriously
Great setup.
I appreciated when before some of the aid stations someone would announce what drinks there were and what order. It would be great if all aid stations had that.
I had fun.
I liked the way this race was run. I earned my t-shirt, the aid stations were enthusiastic, and I liked that I didnt get a bag full of promotional leaflets. It was real challenge and Im glad I did it. I am seriously concerned about the condition of the runner which I saw the EMTs administering CPR.
I love this race and will make it one that I do every year. Thank you.
I think it might be nice if *someone* stuck around at the finish for even the non-tshirt receivers. They worked just as hard, but had no one to greet them, take their number, or acknowledge they were there. One gal looked truly bummed.
I thought it was a half marathon. Maybe you could add a limited number of relay teams for instance from the high school"
I understand because you drove it into our heads that you can give so much back to the city and the schools because of sponsors. What I dont get is why so many other races dont get sponsors. Is this race that good or are they that bad? Even looking past the relatively small size of the event this was one of the best when it came to prizes and awards! Of course that might explain why some who are used to winning were so far back.
I want to thank you for having the race. I told my girlfriend who was unable to go that she will have to run it next year. And that every runner should try it at least once. it is the toughest run I have ever done... again thank you for putting it on. it will be one that I put on my calendar every year to run... even though it is a 900 miles away..
If we were a LOT younger and did not fear falling and the subsequent period of recovery so much, we would do this many more times!! It was well planned, challenging, fair and friendly. It was also an excellent way to gauge our preparness for the Ascent in about a month!
Im mainly a road runner but decided to join a Pikes Peak trail training group last spring after trudging through Pikes Peak marathon last year. Waiting to hear a BTMR report from a couple of runners in our group who used this as a training run.
It was a fun race and I hope to not be last in my age group next year but if I am, what the hell.
It was a lot of fun and I cant wait till next year. My parents came and watched and they liked watching the finish as well.
It was great - very well organized
It was my first time & I loved it. Cant wait until next year. Thanks so much for such a well organized & fun race.
It would be nice if the front runners would stay to their side of the trail while passing people on the way up. I know that they have the right of way, but some (including #10) obviously thought they could run right down the middle or in a couple instances right into me while I was on the extreme edge of a rather wide portion of the trail. If you only want elite runners then say so, the slow people wont bother to show up and be in the way.
Its hard to express just how much I appreciate your efforts in staging this race. The non-littering ethic, and respect for the trail are refreshing.
keep it up! Thanks.
Keep up the good work
Keep up the good work
Keep up the good work.
Keep up the great work!
lived through another one......I think
Matt you did it again! Great job on putting together another successful BTMR!
Mile markers would be very helpful on the course. The first time split I came to, I asked what mileage I was at, they told me 1.25 miles. I was very discouraged. On the way back down at that same exact spot they told me I had 1.75 miles left to go. Who was right? When you are racing against the cut-off clock, knowing exactly how much further you have to go would be helpful.
Missed the flavor ices at the finish line this year! Dont know who brought them last year, but those things are awesome after a hot run like this!
my first time...i loved it!
Need an award for Most Blood. Looked like there were some serious falls.
nice to put the condolences on the webpage, it was rather shocking to run by on the trail
nothing you can do about the heat!
One of the best run events in the Springs!
One of the better races out there.
One of the top 3 trail races Ive ever done. First time but definitely not the last. Keep up the good work and order some cooler weather next year!
perhaps start race earlier to avoid heat.
please put this option at the top of the survey page. thank you.
Quality race, well organized, great for the community effort. Thanks so much, job well done!
Race should start at 6:00am will help with the heat!!
Saw the 2005 race. Awwwwsome!
Suggestions for aid stations: Finish line kids should walk around with water and Gatorade, and offer to people sitting who cannot get up to get some for themselves. Starting line music should be more motivating than jungle music. Water at Bobs was TOO cold--hard to drink much. Loved that they knew my name there, though.
Superb race and the only one that I can guarantee that Ill run each year.
Thank you for giving so much back to the participants and community.
Thanks again for another great race day.
Thanks for a great race
thanks for a great race.
Thanks for hosting this race. You guys do a great job.
Thanks so much for letting me compete in such a great event and I appreciated the support and volunteers surrounding the race. Keep up the great work!
Thanks to all for a very fun race!!! This was my first attempt at it and I would recommend it and do it again. I just wish I did not have to drive for 4 or so hours to get there!! But thanks for making worthwhile!
thanks to all the volunteers
Thanks, excellent, well planned, fun race with a great cause. The addition of the kids running the aid stations is a great idea.
That watermelon was probably the BEST watermelon I have ever had! Could have been the intensity of what I had just run prior to eating it...! And the pizza! I was in heaven! A massage, pizza, water and watermelon really a great finish to a great race. I plan to run this race as long as I am physically able!
The high school aide station challenge is such an incredible service to local teams. This race helps foster the future running community of the Pikes Peak region.
The high-schooler who ran the aid stations were very enthusiastic and made the race a little more fun.
The pizza was a great idea!!
The principles associated with this race are what makes it so unique. Its nice to be part of a race that does so much for the local communities and schools. Congratulations!
The race was very well done. The entry fee was reasonable, a lot of money was given to charities, the high school aid stations were great. An all around great effort.
The race was very well organized and run. Great job with the website, especially entering results and split times. Other races often take weeks to do this. The race pictures are a great addition. Given the incident with the hiker who died, it might make sense, for next year, to offer guidelines to the race participants on what to do if they encounter an injured person on the trail (should they stay with the person, try to contact search/rescue, what is the best way to contact search/rescue, etc.) Also, it would be a good idea to have a reliable way for the race volunteers/aid stations on the trail to communicate, with radios for instance, if that is not currently the case.
The splits magnet in the pre-race bag was great.
This is a great race! With all of the entry fees going to the community and the high schools getting much needed funds for their running programs, and then we have great support and an awesome mountain. How could this miss!!!!
This was my first BARR trail race and I loved it! The only thing I might change at the end is to have food (pizza) available a little sooner. Thanks for a great, memorable race!!
very enjoyable will recommend to my friends
very good job will do it again
very well organized & fantastic fans / aid station cheering
very, very enjoyable experience also, cool that you (Matt) greeted every runner so warmly classy! The toilets at the start were fine it would be impossible; but, too bad there arent any on the course cant imagine anyone with a terribly upset stomach.
Was Very Hot!!
We think the race was really well done. The volunteers were great and this race was really well organized and implemented. We have attend many other races and this ones organization was the best and rates a superior grade.
Well organized and fun.
Well organized race, can tell it came from experience !
Well run enjoyable event.
Wow! I run about a dozen races a year from 10Ks to marathons, and this race is amazingly well organized. Hats off to Matt and all the volunteers! I am proud to wear the shirt not only as a finisher, but as contributing to so many good causes. I plan to run this race as long as God allows me the good health to do so and would have no problems with paying a bigger entry fee!
Wow.
You should have continued the drawings at the end instead of giving up and just giving prizes to the first to get to the stage. This isnt a big deal, but I did stay around to see if I won a prize and was way to far back and too tired to run up to win one.
