After crossing the finish line in 3hrs 22 minutes, there was Matt standing there congratulating even the slowest of runners like myself. That meant a lot, thanks Matt

hometown race. tough race. good distance.

I enjoyed the massage tables at Soda Springs Park and they did an excellent job calling out peoples numbers when it was time for their massage. Was able to relax on the chairs until called. Keep this going for next year

I liked how it was set up and knowing your split times and the course

I liked the way you waited for everyone to finish with the bathrooms before starting.

I loved running on the beautiful.

I really liked the enthusiasm of the kids at the aid station.

It was fun!

It’s Barr Trail

It’s just a good event to participate in.

Just getting back on the mountain after 4 years

Just very well organized. Achieves a rare balance of a seemingly big time race that maintains a home town feel......maybe because of all the ICers and the High School aid station competition.

Length — 12m makes it more of a fun run, but still good practice for the Pikes Peak marathon. Aid stations — people shouting out your name helped a lot!

Location

Massage tables & free Chipotle stuff

The enthusiasm at the aid stations

The fact that it raises money for the community. It has a very local feel to it, very community oriented. I like that.

The field, the scenery

The finish up Hydro Street. I know, many people don’t like that part, but being able to run strong up that particular hill when I didn’t think I had anything left made the finish even sweeter.

The flats.

The free burrito coupon. I also liked the spin for free stuff from Chipotle.

The friendly, encouraging people, not only fellow runners but also at the aid stations. And having Matt Carpenter at the end to shake our hand and thank us for participating.

The mix of elite, mid and rookies. It is a nice touch to have Matt welcome you to the finish line. That is a class act.

Volunteer support, organization and the course itself

well organized

Well-run event! Enjoyed different “themes” from the high schools manning the water stations.

What’s not to like?

Wow — extremely well organized, incredible support at the aid stations, enjoyed running with other runners that like trail running and, were by necessity (the course and cut-off times) serious about their training. The whole experience was way better than I’d hoped for. Very well organized, aid stations were better than any race I’ve participated in (even better than Bolder Boulder and San Diego half-marathon), the surroundings were primo.
