Was the awards ceremony too long, too short or just right? Explain: (159)

A bit long! Everyone is tired, so if it proceeds too long, people drift off once they have received their award, consequently, there are not many left to acknowledge the older age groups (who are the most tired?). Perhaps all but (say) three or four of the drawings could be put on the board?

A bit long, but not bad.

A bit long. But very nice.

a little drawn out, but fun

A little long

A little long, but probably necessary for the amount of awards given.

A little long, but still pretty motivating. Announcer was very good and audible!

A little long, but the great raffle prizes made waiting around worth it

A little long, we didn't stay for the whole thing.

A little long. Maybe more food.

a little on the long side

a little too long

A touch too long but so much is given away I can see how it would be hard to shorten it. One thing to do would be to bring up all the award winners in a group at one time. Perhaps even the male/female for a group. Otherwise like I said there are just so many giveaways and awards that if they are going to be handed out they are going to take time. Nice job on getting the sponsors up on the stage!!! This race depends on them so it is nice to see them. I can't believe that every age-group winner got a pair of shoes! That was cool:-)

About right for the number of awards. I would recommend doing the overall M/F and overall Masters first (just to get it out of the way), and then do age group. Also, I always like to see the older groups get more attention. By the time their awards are handed out many people have either left or lost interest in the ceremony.

Awards ceremonies are always too long; at least, this one was interesting.

Fine, reasonably quick after race

Forgot about the awards ceremony.

had to leave before

Had to leave before it was over

Had to leave due to illness

Hey, you dedicate yourself to a race, by racers for racers, so hang around.

I believe it is too long for the younger runners. The race takes a lot out of us and we barely have the energy to sit through it even though we want to.

I didn't attend (had other plans for the late morning).

I didn't attend. I had to get the kids home.

i didn't stick around for it

I don't know

I had to leave before the ceremony

I had to leave before the start of the ceremony to pick up my daughters, but the refreshments were wonderful.

I needed to catch a plane, so I didn't stay for the awards.

I think the overall awards should be given first, and there should be no age group overlap awards. The ceremony should be kept to under one hour, as people were starting to file out at 11:45.

I thought it was a little long, but the tradeoff was there were plenty of awards, good prizes, recognition for sponsors (very necessary) so i don't know how it could be shortened... Good job!

I thought the awards ceremony was good, maybe just a bid too long.

I was unable to attend secondary to injury

I'm sorry, I was unable to attend.

It got a little long.

It seemed like a normal award ceremony. I did appreciate knowing how the money was distributed.

It was a little long.

It was fine. I just wanted to sit there. I wasn't going anywhere except home to lie on the couch.

It was perfect

It was too long.

It went well. Maybe a more amplified microphone, but that is a very minor issue.

Just fine

Just right I wish I won an award

Just right! I like the instant win idea, and breaking up the awards with raffles.

Just right, but need to reinstate the Zeb Pike awards.

Just right, except the announcer should have announced the overall winners first, then age-groupers. He skipped around too much. Also, maybe some music before the awards.

Just right.

Just right.

Just right. Time to relax.

Just right. Your prize board is a nice time saver.

just right--maybe don't need winners to talk--didn't seem to make them comfortable anyways

Long. Keep it under one hour. Mingling time however is very good. Great to have the running stores supplying goodies. If they don't do this next year, provide some refreshments-especially water-at ceremony.

long-ish...

maybe a LITTLE bit too long

Maybe a little too long

Maybe a little too long, but I recognize the need to acknowledge the accomplishments of all the outstanding runners that placed, the sponsors, and the great volunteers. I have no specific suggestions for shortening the awards ceremony. It just made for a late return home to Missouri!

missed it

Much to long. Sorry, but I don't care what the winners had to say, I think the high school that won the $2000 is the only one that need to go up. I guess same with the money that was given to different organizations, maybe just saying that it was given is enough.

ok

On the long side. Great to give the winners their due, though, so I don't have an idea to make it shorter.

perfect

Seemed a bit long at 1:25. Maybe you should announce only the top 3 in each age group. Thank God it was out of the sun!!!!

Skipped it

slightly long

The awards ceremony was okay in length, but took too long to get started.

The timing was just right, although I was a bit disenchanted with the overall winners "sweeping" all the prizes. I like it so much better when a variety of happy, and surprised, faces go up to receive an age group award. It's a treat to get a unique age division award after watching the top 5 walk away with a plethora of cash and goodies. You make so many more runners happy and no one really misses out.

They dragged a little bit

This year was a bit too long, last year was a bit more fun.

Too long

Too long

Too Long

too long

too long - I got bored & left halfway through

Too long but they always are.

Too long, I expected more drawings so all the name reading got tedious. If it is going to be that long (and I do like the fact that so many are recognized), try to break it up a little bit and keep it exciting.

Too long, People lose interest after a while. Consider going only 3 deep?

Too long.

Too long. Awards always take too long

Too long. I always have a conflict that weekend and miss half of it. Also, most of the crowd seems to drift away.

Too long. I know you have to do it, but it was getting boring.....

Too long. I left after an hour, 15 minutes. Taking all the fake-check photos seemed unnecessary. It made the ceremony drag on. Does ANYONE like those photos?

Too long. Long delays between announcements. Got tired of waiting and left early.

Too long. My fault. I shouldn't have sat that long.

Too Long...award ceremonies are always too long.

Too long...need to limit to 30 - 40 minutes.

Too long--All award winners for age category should be called at one time rather than calling one and waiting for him or her to come before calling another name

too long--had my kids with me and they couldn't wait thru all of it, had to leave before it was over

Took too long to get started and lasted too long.

Tooo Looooong

Unfortunately I wasn't able to stay for the awards ceremony.

Unfortunately, I left before this as I had to get back. I'll want to stay next year.

Unfortunately, I was not able to attend.

Very nice. Would like to hear about the training methods used by winners.

wanted to stay, but had to leave. normally i think they're fun.

Wasn't there

Way too long

Way too long! I made the same comment last year and I didn't stay through the whole awards and prices this year. Anything over 45 minutes to an hour is way too long. I have been to marathons with thousands of participants and the awards are never as long as yours. The giveaways are great but you need to consolidate or compress the time frame.

Well done
