A great race!!!

A great race, thank you for your excellent organization skills.

A great race. Will definitely do it again next year, but with training specifically for that race.

A huge thank you to the director, organizers, volunteers, aide stations and supports. All did a great job!

A terrific race, put on vary well. Maybe put some signs up that there is a race in progress. There seemed to be more hikers and dogs this year

A wonderful race!

After doing the race last year I was so impressed that I really thought there was no place to go but down but I was wrong. This race just got better — way to go race committee!

Announce at start that slower runners/walkers need to stay to right,

Announce to starters to stay to right except to pass

Be nice if the start time was a little earlier, but otherwise a well managed, challenging, yet fun, event. Kudos to Larry M and all the volunteers, esp the high school aid stations, who helped transcend some of the pain with their energy.

Because of an injury was unable to run, could a process be put in place to transfer numbers, charging an extra entry that could go to the trail fund?

Blisters, blackened toenails, sore knees, a little trail rash, and young men in Coconuts...sign me up for next year!

Can’t wait till next year

Change nuttin... it was great

Could make it a little easier for family to get behind the finish line. Runner accessible water, so we can reuse the cups. Fruit at finish, is sooo much nicer than bars. Maybe some shade? All in all a great race, thank you.

Don’t dup. elite top 3 overall and masters winner with age group competitors. I was first loser in my age group and winner (Sammy) was a semi-pro elite.

Don’t want to seem petty, but the drinks at the finish line were pretty warm. Also, I don’t know how the guy missed me but after I had already gone around the turn around at Barr Camp, one of the race officials called me by # to tell me to come back because he didn’t mark my bib #. It didn’t cost me a whole lot of time but it did kind of take me out of the flow of things for a minute or two.

Excellent job to all the volunteers and race committee... It just gets better and better!

Excellent race organization

First time for this race. I like it better that the Ascent!

From what I saw you did a great job of organizing this race. It really helps when the organizer is actually a runner. Keep up the good work and maybe others will learn from your example.

Fun race

Good job (especially the shirt...) I think most people really enjoyed it.

Good job. I wish you guys would take over Imogene.

Good race. I’ll be there next year to beat my time this year.

Great event

Great event Matt! A bunch of friends (including me) said they didn’t like the t-shirts. Would prefer the small emblem on the chest with the big design or sponsor on back. Maybe it’s time to design a permanent logo like the Ascent has. ?? Just the feedback you asked for. Thanks. Craig

Great event that supports the local cross-country teams.

Great event.

Great fun again. Well planned and executed

Great job Matt!

Great job.

Great organization. Great weather. Beautiful course. Can’t ask for much more than that.

Great organization. Very responsive to runners needs. next year maybe let everyone know ahead of time to check the prize board after the race to see if they won anything. I think many people left without realizing that the board was there.

Great overall experience. I definitely got my money’s worth and then some!!!

Great Race

Great race

Great race — as a larger than typical runner, I’d love to see a “Clydesdale” division (for a trail race, maybe it needs to be a “moose” division...)

Great race — good timing for PP Marathon training, too.

Great race, while I was running I said I will never do this again — but see you next year!

Great race thanks

Great race through and through

Great race!

Great race!! I wish we could have helped out more than we did. Thanks for all your time and effort it too. A very successful event and race effort. Lynn and Alex

Great race!! Thought it was nice that Matt Carpenter shook hands with many of us back of pack guys as we finished. On personal note, I was not in good enough condition and ran out of energy at no-name creek on the way down.

GREAT RACE!!! I will definitely be back!!! However, I don’t remember even seeing a large overhead clock at Barr Camp. Oh well, I was pretty out of it at that point in time.

Great race!!!!

Great race.

Great race. It takes a lot of work to pull off an event like this and you did it. Congratulations to all!

I am tired of finishing a race only to get a complimentary warm beverage. Would it be possible to get a small size stock tank, fill it with water & ice, and then put the beverages in it so they are cold?

I did like the race, it was organized very well. Thanks!!!

I didn’t even see the clock at BC.

I enjoyed the race and will put it on my list for next year.

I feel that the race is very well done. Thank you for all your work and also for the encouragement you give to include beginner trail runners.

I had a lot of fun and hope this race continues for many years.

I hope to be a part of this every year. I did a very unexpected PR of 12 minutes.

I just want to thank those folks that put this thing together. I’m sure it isn’t easy but it comes together so well and is so much fun to run in. It was also great to see how much money was given away! The prizes that are given away are fun too. Another thing, I thought the temporary tattoo that Colorado Running Co. put in the race packet was a GREAT idea! What a great way to support our sponsors! I think some people just thought it was a sticker but I’d be happy to promote those folks that help put on that race by wearing their temp. tattoos. We need an Incline Club temporary tattoo. :-)

I love this race and will do it as long as I’m able, well organized and supported, the hard work really shows.

I spoke to a guy at work today who was hiking up the Barr Trail during the race. He did not know about the race. If he had known about the race, he would have chosen to hike elsewhere that day. I suggest you post a sign at the trailhead the night before the race, advising people of the race.

I suggested to Larry that we get some “Runners on the Road” signs to place on Ruxton below the Hydro Street intersection, so drivers coming up will know what’s going on.

I thought the race was great. Being a flatlander it was a real challenge for me. I now have a better idea what the Pikes Peak marathon will be like. I would like to come back next year. I will be shooting for a sub 2 hour.

I thought this was a great race, and attended by well-trained participants who had no problem with the etiquette of trail running! I personally had a very fun day and met some good people!

I was impressed at how gracious Matt Carpenter was at the end of the race. Shaking hands with everybody really says a lot about the character of elite athletes. His gesture will stay in the memory of the average runner and serve as an example for other elites to follow.

I was injured but registered for this year. I really wanted to run... Hopefully next year I can...

I will not consider running this race in the future unless the 3:30 cut off time is pushed out. The 3:30 time would not normally have been a consideration for me, I have been running with chronic Achilles tenditious which I feel fortunate to even be able to be out running but I am slower due to my injury. I feel so strongly that if a person is out doing a race (no mater their ability) their efforts should be acknowledged and rewarded with acknowledgement of crossing the finish line!!!!

I’m enjoying it better thinking about it today than I did yesterday, I’ll have to train more next year.

Increase prize money to attract national competition. Give finisher’s medals instead of finisher’s t-shirt (most runners like that). Overall a great race put on by people who care about trail running and value good competition.

It seemed a lot better organized this year. The aid stations did a GREAT job for the most part in being very encouraging and at least seeming excited. Good race!

It was a great race.

It was fun!

It would be nice to have some toilets at the packet pickup in Soda Springs Park. After driving from Lakewood, it was a long walk to the toilets at the start.

Just right.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

Keep up the good work!

Knowing that races this good take a lot of work, congratulations.

Liked that there were small t-shirts

Looking forward to next year! hope to improve. Thanks for everything, Great Job!!

Looking forward to next year.

Loved this race! Race packets were great. Awards are great! Entire day was great thanks to all of you

Matt and committee — thanks for putting on a class 1 race. Matt I appreciated your greeting the runners at the finish line.

Medical team needs to have ice on hand for injuries next year

Not ready to run it this year

Once again, well done.

Other runners were very friendly and encouraging to each other throughout the race (esp. the mid- and slower runners) which made the race enjoyable

Outstanding race

Overall excellent race.

Please have safety pins to pin the numbers up!

Really enjoyed it! Like it better than the PP Ascent/Marathon. Thanks to all the committee members for their hard work and efforts. It really shows!

Right on — Let’s do again soon

See above

So much money went to younger running programs and a check was already prepared by time the race was over (now that’s efficient). I also liked the story about Julie Flint Bryan.

Super trail running experience!

Thank you all for putting on a nice race... I do this for fun, (since I’m not really a contender for any real awards) It was a good excuse to get down to Manitou and enjoy a nice weekend with my family (Cog railway, cliff dwellings, restaurants etc..) plus a great weather day to boot!! Again, thanks for the hard work and I’ll be there again next year....

Thank you to everyone who helped make this race happen. I know words are a meager substitute for true recognition, but THANKS from a truly appreciative runner. (-:=

Thanks for a fun race!

Thanks for a good run

Thanks for all of your hard work!! Now I just need to get ready for the ascent:)

Thanks for all the hard work to put this race on

Thanks for all the organizational work and time put into this race.

Thanks. A job well done.

ThanQ!!

The race committee and organizers did a great job, both in preparation and execution. Thumbs up.

The race organization was excellent!

The race sounds interesting. I just wanted to see the results.

The sponsors were very generous and friendly.

This is a truly great American trail race. Thank you and keep up the good work!

This is a wonderful race. The price is soooo cheap and what is given back is amazing.

This race is a “keeper.” I plan on doing this every year, just for the fun of it. It was also at just the right time to serve as a good idea of how ready I am for Pikes Peak. It gives me a good idea of what pace would be reasonable for the Pikes Peak Ascent.”

This race is a class act: low impact, low overhead & high donations. I really appreciated Matt’s shaking hands with each finisher and thanking them for coming out. Great work — keep it up!

This race is so unique in that a HUGE percentage of the money goes to worthwhile causes. I’m tired of paying lots of money for races and wondering where it all goes. This race will go on my calendar for next year!

This race provided many memorable images and moments I will treasure forever.

This race was a fantastic experience and I’m glad I was able to participate. I’m already looking forward to running it again and improving my time.

This race was the highlight of my summer! Thanks for a well run race. It is great that all the money gets donated.

This race will keep getting better each year. Keep up the good work!

This was an amazing experience. I still can’t believe I finished, and actually did pretty well, in something as insane as this race. Road running sucks compared to trail races as cool as this. I hope back in New York where I go to school I can find some races like this one. Thanks for everything!

Very enjoyable, great announcer, miss seeing him at the Pikes Peak races, why are overall top 5 winners not pulled out of age group awards, do some of you really need 2 awards? Spread the wealth!

Very fine race.

Very organized race

Very well organized

Very well organized. I enjoyed the race

Well organized and lots of fun. I was so happy to be able to participate.

Well organized race.

Well organized, fun, good training for longer events

Well organized. I like the incentive of a t-shirt for finishers only.

Well run race which will definitely be an annual event for me. Brings back memories of the Pikes Peak Marathon in the “Good old Days!”

What a well run race! Thanks.

Why no salty snacks at the finish? That isn’t dried sugar on people! Also, six porta johns at the start is a complete joke!
