Were there enough aid stations and were they well stocked? Explain: (189)

Absolutely

Absolutely. Considering the terrain and the sheer logistics, this was a phenomenal feat. Much better than larger races run along the same trail.

Aid stations are the best. I love the idea of the cross county teams competing. they can use it.

Aid stations were amazing, if not the best of any race I have ever done. Given how hard it is to get people up there, everyone involved with the aid stations should be complemented.

Aid stations were fine. If you’re on the slower side, such as I am, it definitely pays to also carry your own water.

Aid stations were great

Aid stations were great

Aid stations were great.

Aid stations were great. Another aid station between the 4 mile mark (Bob’s Road) and Barr Camp might be beneficial, but I thought they were great. Before the race I was debating on whether or not to carry water with me, but I didn’t and had absolutely no problems.

Aid stations were great — can’t say enough good things about the stations and volunteers. I brought my own small water bottle filled with ice in a racing fanny pack to get me through tough spots where there was no aid. Maybe a good suggestion for next year’s tips. You never know when that bus is going to run you over.

Aid stations were incredible!! Very energetic and well spaced out. Water and Gatorade was nice and cold, which was a real treat. Gels were beneficial also! Kids did a great job!

Aid stations were well placed.

Did not use aid stations

Enough aid stations and well stocked.

Enough aid stations. Could use safety pins and petroleum jelly at the start station.

Enough and well stocked and enthusiasm was great

Enough and well stocked for my needs as I went through. However, I heard a few people say they wished there had been a couple more.

Enough for me — liked the water and them handing out gel, I even tried it.

Enough, and well stocked.

Excellent

First aid had ICE in the water, too cold to drink fast. Couldn’t open the gel, packet didn’t tear.

Gel at the stop before Barr Camp finish would have been nice. More food such as oranges, bananas, muffins, etc. at the finish would be great. Over all well done.

Great aid stations

Great aid Stations — the High School Students are enthusiastic

Great aid stations!!!!!!!

Great aid stations, I liked having lots of aid available and they were well stocked

Great aid stations, well stocked and well placed. I wish the PPA/M had as many.

Great aid stations, well stocked.

Great aid stations. They were well spaced and the kids running the aid stations were really supportive and quick with the drinks and Carbooms.

Great job by everyone.

Great support, but shouldn’t have ice water.

High school aid stations spirit was the best I ever seen...

I thought the aid stations had more energy last year. They seemed not to have as much fun doing it this year. I really enjoyed that last year.

It was nice to have so many aid stations, and they were all well stocked. It would have been nice if the aid station at the incline would have had Gatorade, but maybe that was a problem logistically.

Just right

Just right

Just right.

Maybe an aid station at the 7.8 sign. They were well stocked, except the gels needed to be around at the top for the second-half of the race (they probably were, I probably just missed them).

More than enough

Plenty

Plenty, yes

Sure, water is all I needed, no gel

The aid stations are great. Please remind them to have goo on hand at each station for those of us who may bonk on this race!

The aid stations were all very good and helpful. They also kept their areas clean and cups off the trail. I thought they were all great.

The aid stations were great this year — they were all very enthusiastic. The gel helped out a lot!

The aid stations were great!

The aid stations were great! I don’t think I ever had as much support during a race. They were well stocked, and it was fun to see the costumes, and to hear the encouragement from the people at the aid stations.

The aid stations were great! It might help if we had a list of what they were providing, like gel, etc. But on a shorter race like this, it doesn’t matter that much.

The aid stations were great, except that I’ve heard they didn’t offer water to some of the last runners coming through (they ran out...?) otherwise, I have no complaints

The aid stations were well placed. They had everything I needed (water and the gel was nice).

The water at Bob’s Road tasted like iodine

There were enough — it would have been nice if the first station had an energy drink and not just water

There were plenty of stations. I love having the h.s. kids out there cheering — I think the kids and the runners gain from this experience.

These aid stations were some of the best and most enthusiastic I’ve ever experienced in a race. I’m just a water drinker during a race of this length, so I can’t say if they were well stocked or not.

They were great

They were great except for ice in the water at the incline aid station.

They were great!

They were perfect!!

Too few, but then again I’m a heavy water drinker

Yes — excellent aid stations

Yes — I like the competition and levity that goes along with them too

Yes — I would have liked there to be a sign or something at the aid stations that said how far we had gone. It was my first time on the trail. I read the course description on the web site several times--but because I was so busy looking two steps ahead, I missed some of the landmarks.

Yes plenty, and they seemed well stocked

Yes the schools were great

yes there were enough and they were all very enthusiastic

Yes to both questions. One of the reasons I wanted to run this race again was the memory of how well supported it was.

Yes to the above, they were super, awesome, funny etc.

Yes very nicely done

Yes!

Yes, aid stations were great

Yes, although I didn’t use them much except for water, they seemed to be well stocked.

Yes, but I didn’t like Apple GU at No Name.

Yes, but I have always needed very few aid stations, so I don’t know if I really can give an accurate answer to this.

Yes, didn’t carry hydration or fuel and the aid stations were stocked to meet my needs. Nice touch having the gels open and ready.

Yes, didn’t like the gel they passed out

Yes, excellent

Yes, I didn’t carry anything and just used the aid stations

Yes, I was quite happy with the aid stations and their supplies. Plenty of water, Gatorade, and (pre-opened) gels!!!

Yes, liked getting the Carb-Boom at French Creek.

Yes, no problems getting water, Gatorade or gu if you wanted it.

Yes, perfect amount and well stocked

Yes, they were excellent. Water is not enough for a race like this so I was pleased to find the Gatorade and Energy Gel. Also, the squirt guns were very much appreciated.

Yes, they were great

Yes, they were great!

Yes, very well done

Yes, very well done with the aid stations.

Yes, volunteers were friendly and encouraging

Yes, way to go high schools. Wish the Ascent would add the Bob’s Road station.

Yes, yes

Yes, yes, and the volunteers were very enthusiastic.

Yes. Colder water would have been nice..

Yes. Excellent idea for using the local school.

Yes. I like the concept of involving the high schools. The runners get good aid and it encourages younger people to continue running.

Yes. I only took (needed) aid at No Name going up (water), and Barr (Gatorade).

Yes. I thought it was just about perfect and those kids are too funny! The High Schools at the start and finish, I think, have the worst chance of winning. You don’t notice them like you do out on the trail.

Yes. They were great.

Yes. Very well stocked and placed on the course.

Yes; very well stocked. Particularly the station with ice water!

Yes; well-stocked

Yup, just right
