Was the awards ceremony too long, too short or just right? Explain: (180)

A bit long I thought, but I was nursing a sprained ankle and that probably made me more likely to be irritated by having to wait

A little long

A little long but worth it for the awards and prizes

A little long in starting, maybe have volunteers set-up while race is happening

A little long; it started late and then went on for a long time. It was fun, so I am not really complaining.

A little too long

A little too long.

About as short as you can make it and still have everything. Much better than last year

Again, it was a little too long, I know it’s difficult to start on time but that would help, maybe to get people to the awards ceremony and start things going before the actual awards — you could be drawing for some random prizes?

Award ceremony was about right. Just too long waiting to get it started.

Awards ceremony was fine for length but should have started sooner.

Awards Ceremony was fine. Logistically, it is very difficult to get everything from the finish line down to Soda Springs in a timely manner. Aside from more bodies, not sure how that part can be sped up.

Awards were just fine.

Didn’t stay for the award, wasn’t feeling very good.

Didn’t wait around — started late.

Don’t know

Even though it got started late, I would have to say the length of the ceremony was just right.

Excellent ceremony.

Fine — loved the announcer (funny)

From Missouri, I did not stay for the whole thing

Given everything involved, it was just right. I needed some more food and water about half way through. I’ll have to plan for that next year. Roger had me laughing most of the way through. He’s great. It’s a great location for the ceremony and seems to lend itself for keeping folks around longer. I like the unusual awards like for the person who came the longest distance, etc.

Given the logistics, no complaints. Having a little delay gives runners some quality time to hang out together, compare notes and make new acquaintances. I would not change it.

Good

Got hurt could not be there

Had to leave — Did not attend

Had to leave early

I could not stay for the entire ceremony but I heard it was good.

I couldn’t stay for it :-(

I did not attend the ceremony

I didn’t stay for the whole thing, but what I was there for seemed pretty good

I don’t think you can get it any shorter. I like that you announce all 3-5 in an age group at once instead of individually and I like the door prizes done ahead of time.

I enjoyed the ceremony — but I didn’t stay for all of it. I had a long drive back to Lincoln, NE.

I had to skip it, so I don’t know.

I think you ought to take over all winners out of age group awards. Spread the wealth around.

I wasn’t able to stay, so I can’t say. It did start a little late, and we were getting very hungry while waiting.

I wish it had started a bit sooner as we couldn’t stay. We stopped by there and had some fruit but my kids came to see me at the end and they really couldn’t hang out any longer to wait for the ceremony. I understand that you had to wrap up at the finish line first. Just the way it is.

It dragged a little bit (only because I didn’t get an award). But it is great to see the fast runners.

It got to feeling pretty long, in fact I left before it was over.

It was about right. I understand how tough it is to keep those things from dragging out to long. With a race like this that has such a wide range of abilities, the faster runners have a long wait until the awards ceremony, but it’s not too bad.

It was good. They often get too long. Calling the age class winners up in groups is a good idea. It is important that everybody gets acknowledged, but it is easy to let these things go on so long that people leave.

It was just right this year. Having the board listing those who won prizes was a good idea. But why was there also a drawing of prizes after the awards?

It was OK... Just right.

It went very well this year. I like the way you did the door prizes.

It would have been an o.k. length if it could have started at 11:00.

Just about right — much better than last year.

Just right — it was better this year, since it started earlier

Just right — it was nice that you recognized the aid station volunteers — they were great! Also, the awards were really nice — not just your everyday awards but they had a nice touch to them.

Just right — want to recognize the winners but not spend all day doing so

Just right and think that Roger Allison is best

Just right but didn’t start as early as planned.

Just right I liked the announcer

Just right, it was fine for length. Great spread put on by Runner’s Roost, and booths at Soda Springs helped with the wait in getting it started

Just right.

Just right.

Just right. Much better than last year. Didn’t like the pre-drawn raffle. Should have been explained, with the proviso that awards not claimed by a certain time will go back into the draw, or to a second pre-drawn number. Or, split the raffle into two parts. Draw some numbers on stage at the start of the awards; then do the awards; then draw some more after.

Just right... MC was great...

Just right? Went faster than last year — Thanks. The food from R.R. was also a nice touch. Also, it was a good idea to post drawing winners ahead of time. I even won a prize — wahoo!

Late getting started

Left before it started

Long

Medical problem, did not attend

Medical problem, did not go

Missed it — needed to get back up to Longmont

Much better than last year. Just wish it had started closer to 11:00

Much better then last year(if only you keep Roger’s standup routine to a minimum)

Much much improved over last year we just need to get Rodger to speed it up a little bit more

MUCH shorter than last year, great job with the drawings and awards. I think some folks still lost interest towards the end, but those who stayed were rewarded with more drawings, so it’s all good! :)

OK

OK

Once it started it was an ok length, but I would have liked to see it start a little sooner.

Other than getting started late, this year it was just right. I liked the idea of the prize drawings being posted.

Perfect timing — very quick, even with the prize drawing and humorous announcing.

Right

Slightly too long. I think since this is a smaller race, going 5 deep in each age category was too many. My opinion is that 3 deep is adequate. I did like that people could get more than one award. They deserve it if they win an overall placement award as well as their age group.

Sorry, could not attend, as I had to pick up my daughter from a sitter way far away (else I would have come back for it).

Started a bit late, but went expediently.

Started late, but didn’t seem too long

Still somewhat long

Still think the awards ceremony was a bit long. Better than last year, but still a bit long.

Still too long — we need to have it all laid out so we can go through everything — BAM! BAM! BAM!

The awards ceremony was fine.

The awards ceremony wasn’t too long, but there should have been a better presentation of the overall male and female winners. A little more recognition for the US Mountain Running Team members since that was why the fields were so competitive.

The length was fine

The length was OK. It just took a while to get started.

They can never be too long :-)

This year it was perfect.

Too late

Too late

Too long

Too long and unorganized. Started late. Roger is the best announcer around!

Too long of course if it starts on time then it is just right.

Too long, but I was glad to stay and cheer all the winners.

Too long, started late

Too long. I had to use the restroom but didn’t want to leave in case I won a raffle prize.

Too long. Too much chit chat

Too long. Top 10 overall, top 5 female, masters male and female. Let age group just pick up the awards, not presentation.

Unable to attend.

Very entertaining and should not be any longer.

Was unable to attend

wasn’t able to stay...

We had two small children with us so could not stay for the whole ceremony.

Well done, much better than last year. Putting some of the random drawings on a board helped save time but I think many did not know to check for their number.

Would be nice if it started earlier

Yes
