Fundraising
Breakdown of the money the 2007 Barr Trail Mountain Race raised and donated:
The six high schools: $6,000
Friends of the Peak: $5,475
El Paso County Search and Rescue: $5,403
Trails and Open Space Coalition: $500
Total donations: $17,378 or $39.23 per registrant, $51.41 per finisher!
Great sponsors made this possible because the average entry fee was only $19.21 bringing in $8,508,
all of which was donated, and yet there were many expenses with T-shirts alone costing $3,945 along with $2,800 in prize money and primes,
$625 for finisher medals and $465 for pizza.
