High School Aid Station Challenge
223 runners voted in the high school aid station challenge and only
10 votes separated the top two schools! Doherty, who did the Incline
overlook station, was the $1000 winner:-) Coronado at Barr Camp,
Manitou Springs at No Name Creek, Sand Creek at Bobs Road and
Wasson at the start/finish each got $500 for doing an aid station.
Fundraising
Here is a breakdown of the money the Barr Trail Mountain Race raised:
Barr Camp: $3,110.00 (Matched by a private donor = $6,220.00)
The five high schools: $3,000.00
Friends of the Peak: $1,647.75
All American Trail Running Association: $1,592.75
Search and Rescue: $250.00
PPRR Fall Series Kids run: $100.00
Total donations: $9,700.50 or $32.23 per registrant, $39.19.44 per finisher!
Great sponsors made this possible because the average entry fee was only $19.32 bringing
in $5,815.00 and there were many expenses with T-shirts alone costing $2,320.00.
