On the trail up the hill through the woods to Barr Camp we go

This is one of the most popular aspects of the Barr Trail Mountain Race. All the aid stations on the course are staffed by high school cross country and track teams. At the finish line runners vote for their favorite aid station with the winning school getting the most money for their school’s running program and an automatic spot in the following year’s challenge. Second through 5th will be awarded cash for their programs as well. In all $6,000 is awarded to the five schools!

With more than 80 gallons of water at each station, and several stations also stocking up to 30 gallons of Gatorade, we want to thank Gatorade for providing us with a ton of coolers and the drinks to go in them! Next, we thank Carb-BOOM for supplying us with a great tasting energy gel so that the runners won’t bonk out on the trail.
