High School Aid Station Challenge
This is one of the most popular aspects of the Barr Trail Mountain Race. All the aid stations on the course are staffed by high school cross country and track teams.

At the finish line runners vote for their favorite aid station with the winning school getting the most money for their school’s running program and an automatic spot in the following year’s challenge. Second through 5th will be awarded cash for their programs as well. In all $6,000 is awarded to the five schools bringing the 10 year total to $60,000!

“In 30 years of running and racing I’ve never seen a race able
to make these kinds of contributions to the local running
community. In this case — future running community.”

Coach Gary Weston and the Liberty H.S. Cross Country Teams

With more than 80 gallons of water at each station, and several stations also stocking up to 30 gallons of Gatorade, we want to thank Gatorade for providing us with a ton of coolers and cups and the drinks to go in them!
